Learn to Hand Embroider! Embroidery is a skill that can last a lifetime, a hobby that can ignite creativity, and an activity that is proven to soothe the mind from everyday stressors. This is not your Grandma's craft – it is a true skill and artform for all ages (and we love grandmas, too!) The instructors are members of the Green Bay Area Chapter Embroiderers' Guild of America. We are passionate about sharing the Love of Stitching!

Meet, Greet, and Stitch: April 11, 2026
Perhaps you want to try embroidery, or perhaps you want to pick it up again. Maybe you want to learn more about the Guild. Join us for this free, hands-on event designed especially for those interested in learning more about embroidery and the Green Bay Area Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America.
Participants will select one small, beginner-friendly embroidery project to stitch during the event. Along the way, learn about the Guild’s activities, review basic information to help you get started with the art of embroidery, and connect with others in a relaxed, creative atmosphere.
Location: Brown County Public Library, Ashwaubenon Branch, 1040 Orlando Drive, Ashwaubenon, WI
Time: 10:30 am – 1:30 pm (Please bring a lunch - a break time will be provided.)

FREE: Choose between cross stitch or surface embroidery. One stitching kit with all the necessities to complete the project will be provided, plus lots of camaraderie!
Parent & Me / Grandparent & Me: May 2, 2026
Looking for a creative and memorable activity for a special child in your life? Complete a fun, beginner-level project that combines coloring a simple design, melting it to the fabric, adding life to it with easy stitches. Guild members will be on-hand to help! Every child needs an adult buddy who will stay and help the child work on their project. Inspire the next generation with the love of stitching!
Location: Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S. Madison Street, Green Bay, WI
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Pre-registration required - Print and mail registration form
Fee: $8.00 per child, includes one project kit. Optional: $7.00 for an extra adult kit (adult kit does not contain instructions).
Who: This event is for children 6 years and up, with an adult.
Limit: 10 children and one adult per child
For the Love of Stitching: Introduction to Hand Embroidery Youth Summer Camp: August 3-6, 2026
Many of today’s fun items – purses, hats, jeans, to name a few - are embellished with wonderful stitching. Now, you can DIY! Learn to hand embroider! This class will introduce the fundamentals of hand embroidery, such as hooping, selecting and preparing fabric, exploration of various threads and embellishments, overview of the types of needles for various styles of embroidery, and patterns vs free form, and finishing. Participants will first practice various stitches and then apply the embroidery stitch to a project. The class fee of $20 provides each student with a project, that will include fabric, thread, needles, hoop, and instructions needed to complete the project. The class is limited to 8 students so that personalized instruction is available for each participant.
The instructors are members of the Green Bay Area Chapter Embroiderers’ Guild of America. The whole group will meet in one room and then separate into age groups for project work.
Registration is being handled by the Ashwaubenon Community Center. You can register online, print the form and mail it in, or go to the community center in person. Fee: $20 per youth, provides fabric, thread, needles, small scissors, hoop, and instructions needed to complete a cute surface embroidery project.

Limit: 8 students per age group (16 total)
